How to play

  1. Combine two numbers

Choose a number, an operation, and a second number. The two tiles merge into their result.

  2. Make exactly 24

Keep combining until just one tile remains. Use every original number once and make that final tile exactly 24.

  3. Choose the order

Subtraction and division follow your selected order. Fractions and negative intermediate values are allowed; division by zero is not.

  4. Explore your options

Undo or reset as often as you want. Show solution gives one answer but earns no point for that puzzle. Continue through three puzzles, then select Finish round to save.

Inside the game

What is Make 24?

Make 24 gives you four number tiles and lets you build a calculation with direct taps. Each merged tile keeps the expression that produced it, so you can see how the pieces fit together. A round contains three different solvable number sets. Intermediate fractions stay exact rather than being rounded, and equal-valued tiles are separate pieces you may each use once.

How your score works

A completed round saves the number of puzzles solved without revealing a solution, from 0 to 3; higher is better. Undo and Reset numbers are free. Show solution gives 0 for that puzzle. Select Finish round after the third puzzle to save; starting a new round discards unfinished results.

More about your scores →

Example: combine two pairs

With 2, 3, 4 and 6, combine 2 + 4 to make 6, then 3 × 6 to make 18 using the original 6 tile. Finally combine the remaining 6 and 18: 6 + 18 = 24. All four original numbers were used exactly once.

Playing tips

  1. Work backward from a useful pair

To finish with 4 × 6, think about which two groups of tiles could make 4 and 6. You are free to build separate intermediate results before combining them.

  2. Use the selection order deliberately

Selecting 8, then division, then 2 makes 4. Selecting 2, division, then 8 makes 1/4. Tap a selected number again to clear the selection before choosing a different route.

  3. Look for factor pairs

    Look for factor pairs of 24, such as 3 × 8, 4 × 6, or 2 × 12.

  4. Build two pairs

You can combine two pairs separately before bringing their results together.

  5. Undo and try another route

If a route ends at another value, undo a step instead of restarting the entire round.

Questions, answered.

Results describe this game session. They are not IQ scores, diagnoses or clinical assessments.

Yes. Reaching 24 while other tiles remain is not a solution. Combine everything into one final tile showing 24.

The order of your merges supplies the parentheses. Division can produce fractions, which remain exact in later operations. You do not need to type an expression.

Yes. Every set in this medium collection has at least one solution using only whole-number intermediate results. Fractions are also allowed if you find another route.

No. Experiment as much as you like. Only Show solution removes the point for that puzzle; finish all three puzzles to save the round.
