How to play

  1. Follow the grid

Fill each row, column and outlined 2×3 box with digits 1–6 exactly once. Given digits stay fixed.

  2. Place a digit

Select a square, then a keypad digit. Keyboard digits enter values; arrow keys move and Delete clears.

  3. Keep notes

Turn Notes on, or press N, to keep your own candidates. Turn Notes off to place a final digit.

  4. Check your reasoning

Check entries highlights mistakes. Hint fills one deduced square and explains why. Complete the grid to save your result.

Inside the game

What is Mini Sudoku?

Mini Sudoku has six rows and six columns divided into six 2×3 boxes. Every generated board has exactly one solution and can be completed using single-candidate or single-position deductions. There is no timer. Daily values, notes and used hints resume on this device; Practice creates another board without replacing that draft.

How your score works

A solved board saves requested hints; fewer is better and 0 means no hints were requested. Checking, notes and undo are free; undoing a hinted entry does not remove its hint. Different puzzles are not equal-difficulty comparisons. Completed daily drafts do not save another result on refresh.

Example: a missing digit

A row containing 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 needs 5 in its only empty square. Before placing it, confirm that the same column and outlined 2×3 box allow 5 too. Given digits never change.

Playing tips

  1. Find one remaining candidate

For an empty square, exclude digits already in its row, column and box. If only one remains, you can place it. Notes help keep track; they are manual and do not update themselves.

  2. Find one remaining position

Sometimes several digits fit each empty square, but a particular digit has only one possible position in a row, column or box. Look at the whole group rather than only one square.

  3. Start where the grid is fullest

Begin with a row, column or box that already contains several different digits.

  4. Look for a single position

Look for a digit with only one possible square in a box, even when that square has several candidates.

  5. Keep your notes current

Notes are manual reminders. Update them when a placed digit changes the possibilities.
